Digital Dish: NBA Digital, NASCAR.com Report Record Numbers

NBA Digital’s coverage of the NBA Draft presented by Kia Motors (June 23-26) delivered record traffic for NBA.com with nearly 17 million video streams – almost triple last year’s mark – and more than 85 million page views, an increase of more than 190% and 53%, respectively, compared to the 2010 NBA Draft. Unique visitors to the m.nba.com mobile website were up 60% over last year as well. NBA Digital via NBA TV, NBA.com, and NBA Mobile provided fans with all-access coverage leading up to, and continuing throughout, the 2011 NBA Draft presented by Kia Motors.

NBA Digital is the NBA’s cross-platform portfolio of digital assets jointly managed by the NBA and Turner Sports, including NBA TV, NBA.com, NBA LEAGUE PASS, NBA LEAGUE PASS Broadband, NBA Mobile, NBADLEAGUE.com, and WNBA.com.

NASCAR.com’s RaceBuddy continues to complement TNT’s television coverage with 848,000 video streams during Sunday’s race in Sonoma. RaceBuddy provides an interactive viewing experience and customizable camera angles, including backstretch cam, in-car cam, battle cam, and mosaic view. Sunday’s race eclipsed last year’s RaceBuddy video stream total from Sonoma by 211% and last week’s video stream total from Michigan by 16% to become the second-highest total in RaceBuddy history, behind TNT’s first race of the 2011 Summer Series in Pocono that saw a record-breaking 1.1 million video streams.

Compared to last year’s Sonoma figures, RaceBuddy page views increased 93%, visits increased 94%, and unique users increased 77%.  In total, five million minutes of RaceBuddy content were streamed during Sunday’s race.
