Signiant to Host Webcast on Industry’s Migration to File-Based Workflows

In partnership with the Media and Services Alliance (MESA), Signiant will host an interactive webcast entitled “The Move to a Completely File-Based Industry” on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 11:00 a.m. PDT. The webcast will feature John Koscheka, senior vice president of worldwide fulfillment and digital services at Twentieth Century Fox, in discussion with Rick Clarkson, Signiant’s vice president of product management, about the many challenges involved with moves by the media and entertainment industry to a completely file-based world.

“John has been at the forefront of the migration from tape to files for years and is regularly asked to speak on the topic at leading industry events. He is recognized as an expert in this area and is a well-respected thought leader in the media and entertainment industry,” said Clarkson. “We encourage members of the media to register today for this informative webcast discussion about the impacts of migrating to a file-based workflow.”

The webcast will consist of an informal discussion in which Clarkson will pose specific questions to Koscheka, and then the audience will be encouraged to ask questions that Koscheka will address in real time. Topics include the challenges associated with an initial migration from tape to file-based operations, the real cost savings associated with the migration and the payback period, headcount expectations, bandwidth constraints and long distance issues regarding latency, and techniques for streamlining the process of moving multiple file formats to multiple customers in multiple countries.

Members of the media are encouraged to attend this webcast. To register, visit http://mesalliance.org/signiant.
