Fall Events Preview: TranSPORT 2011

SVG will hold TranSPORT 2011, the industry’s first event dedicated to the needs of the sports professional whose job duties include transport and distribution of video and audio content via TV, the Internet, and more, at the Hilton New York Hotel on Oct. 11.

The half-day event will provide an overview of the most recent developments as the industry’s top experts and service providers discuss the current and future state of this important market segment.

“When it comes to delivering the best experience for sports fans watching the big game on a TV or mobile device one of the most important factors is a quality signal transportation workflow,” says Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG Editorial Director. “This year’s event will make it easier than ever for attendees to understand their latest options and challenges.”

TranSPORT 2011 opens with Transport Perspectives: Doing It Right. The session will feature industry leaders discussing the current state of the backhaul, distribution, and delivery marketplace. Matthew Goldman, vice president of technology at Ericsson, will moderate a panel of speakers from CBS Television, Intelsat, and ESPN.

Event highlights include Proper Transport of 3D, 1080p, and Next Gen Services; File-Based Transport and Remote Operations; Satellite Services: Beyond the Basics; and plenty of networking opportunities.
