SVG’s Women’s Sports Media Initiative Meeting Scheduled

The annual meeting for SVG’s Women’s Sports Media Initiative will be held Monday, December 12 from 9:30 – Noon at the New York Hilton. The agenda includes a networking breakfast, a discussion on new automation technologies and how they are shaping production processes, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the espnW initiative. As more automated technologies are being introduced into sports production, how does that change the way humans prepare for and produce sports? This panel discussion will examine new automated technologies, the changing production landscape, and where sports production personnel need to refocus their talents to keep relevant in this new era of sports broadcasting.

ESPN’s brand platform for women, espnW, has grown considerably in the past year. Designed to connect female fans to the sports they love and follow, espnW is digitally focused, but the team is also creating brand experiences that extend beyond ESPN’s digital platforms to reach women where they are already consuming media. In this presentation, Laura Gentile, Vice President of espnW, and Katie Richman, Director of Social Media Strategy for espnW, will discuss the evolution of espnW, the brand’s content and business priorities, and offer a snapshot of the content being presented across its platforms.
