Big South Conference Streams with NewTek HD TriCasters

The Big South Conference has upgraded its live streaming capabilities with the addition of 12 NewTek TriCaster 850 EXTREME HD portable live production systems. With conference play beginning the first of December, the Big South will use the new HD TriCasters to produce and live stream all men’s and women’s home basketball games, and will continue to use TriCaster as the heart of their streaming operations in the sports seasons to follow.

The Big South Conference produces and streams more than 700 live events each year. Through the Big South Network fans have the opportunity to watch all of the conference home football games, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and many other of our sporting events such as volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, including the conference championships in most of the league’s sports.

“Now that each of our 11 member schools and the conference headquarters have TriCaster 850 EXTREME, we can deliver live sporting events that rival network broadcast quality,” said Mark Bryant, director of multimedia development, Big South Conference. “Our streaming operations have grown dramatically, and TriCaster technology has been critical in that process, since we first entrusted games to NewTek in 2009. TriCaster has totally changed the economics of college sports production, now we can afford to give our fans a virtual front row seat at every Big South sport from basketball to volleyball. And, no matter where our fans, friends, family, and alumni are located in the world, they know they can always watch their favorite Big South sports on the Big South Network.”
