XOS Digital Taps Former IMG Exec as Director of Strategic Digital Partnerships

XOS Digital, Inc., a provider of sports video technology, announced that during a period of increased sponsorship demand for online sports programming, it has added former IMG executive Brian Florko as director of strategic digital partnerships.

XOS Digital has advertising opportunities with multiple high-profile partners including the Big East, Mid-American and Southeastern conferences, as well as the University of Kentucky. In the Ohio Valley and Kentucky regions, Florko will oversee digital advertising and sponsorship for all company platforms featuring originally produced sports shows.

“XOS Digital has strong partnerships with more than 80 percent of BCS schools,” says XOS Digital’s CEO Chris McCleary. “Brian’s experience, combined with our broad-reaching opportunities, will help our advertising partners to expand their online strategies and reach targeted audiences more effectively.”

In 2009, XOS Digital introduced the sports industry to the “digital network” concept by launching the first network to combine the ability to digitize sports assets, license them and distribute them to multiple endpoints including an official conference website, mobile and tablet apps for multiple carriers, a Smart TV app for multiple connected TV brands, an official YouTube page and a micro-network of regional news outlet sites which has grown to nearly 400 participants embodying an average of 8 million weekly impressions alone.

Since then, XOS Digital has expanded its digital network offering from coast to coast.

“We’ve really impacted the industry for both sports organizations and fans in a powerful and positive manner,” McCleary said. “We’ve reversed sports consumption as we know it, taking the game to fans regardless of time of day or their geographic locations. In 2012 we will continue to expand the digital network offering, and Brian will serve key territories where opportunities are ripe for advertisers hoping to reach prime sports demographics.”

Florko joins XOS Digital after four years as an account executive for the college division of IMG. His primary accounts included the University of Cincinnati and the University of Kentucky. He oversaw multimedia rights sales including marks and logo use, endorsements, radio and television all in-venue opportunities. Prior to that, he was the associate general manager for ISP Sports at the University of Cincinnati.

Previously, Florko was an associate general manager for Learfield Communications at the University of Purdue, and general manager for ESPN at Texas Christian University. In both roles he oversaw multimedia rights opportunities.

Florko is a Miami University alumnus and a board member of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital StarShine. He lives in Cincinnati with his wife Kristen, and they are expecting their first child in June.
