Campus Clips: Duke Doc Set to Air on truTV; Quinnipiac, Stone Hill Unveil New Mobile Apps

Former Duke All-Americans Grant Hill and Christian Laettner are teaming up with Turner Sports to offer viewers an inside look at one of the most-storied college basketball programs. The first-of-its-kind documentary for Turner Sports, Duke 91 & 92: Back to Back will air on truTV on at 8 p.m. ET on March 11 (Selection Sunday). The hour-long doc will revisit 1991 and 1992, when the Blue Devils became the first school in nearly 20 years to win back-to-back national championships…

…A second version of the Official Quinnipiac University Athletics Application for the iPhone and iPod Touch offers a bevy of new features to keep fans up to date with the Bobcats. Outside of news, schedules, results, photos, and audio/video, the new version brings “a far friendlier user experience” New features include revamped designs and graphics, a direct connection to QU’s Youtube channel, live radio broadcasts of QU games, a live Twitter feed, ‘Bobcasts,’ and an option to receive push notifications for your favorite Bobcat team…

…Stonehill College has also launched its own app, a free download now available on Apple and Android devices. Partnering with Avenue Networks, Stonehill is the first Northeast-10 Conference member to offer a mobile app for smartphones. The app provides a user-friendly gateway to the athletic department’s various web-based mediums such as its mobile website, powered by PrestoSports, and Facebook and Twitter pages…

…According to multiple sources, discussions between Temple and the Big East Conference regarding the Owls joining the league for football are hitting final stages. The Philadelphia Inquirer says the talks include Temple’s becoming a Big East member for all sports but those talks aren’t as far along…

…Turns out Boise State football will be staying put in the Mountain West Conference this fall.  The Broncos had considered an early move to the Big East to help that conference compete with eight football members this fall but determined that the logistics of the move, including finding a home for non-revenue sports and the financial implications of the withdrawal from the Mountain West, caused the school to delay the move until the planned date in 2013…

…CBS Sports selected Ohio State/Michigan State as its Big Ten Wildcard college basketball game on Sunday, March 4. Verne Lundquist and analyst Clark Kellogg will call the game, which tips at 4 p.m. ET from the Breslin Center in Columbus, Ohio.
