Campus Clips: 2013 Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament to Air on ESPN, Venue Remains Uncertain

Prior to the start of the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament, commissioner Larry Scott discussed the league’s television rights heading into next season. ESPN will televise the 2013 men’s tournament and broadcast rights will rotate each year with Fox. In 2013, ESPN will broadcast the quarterfinals, semis and championship game. The first round will air on the new Pac-12 Network. ESPN will televise 44 games next season, Fox 22 and the remaining 125 will be on the Pac-12 Network…

…As for where the Pac-12 men’s tournament will be held next year, that fact remains cloudy. Scott said Wednesday the league will announce the future site of its conference basketball tournaments after a weekend meeting of university presidents and chancellors. According to CBS Los Angeles, Scott confirmed between tournament games at Staples Center that the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was in the running to serve as host starting in 2013. … The championship games of the 2012 Atlantic Sun Conference Baseball and Softball Championships will be streamed live on ESPN3. The A-Sun Softball Championship is scheduled for Sat., May 9-12, at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. Action in Saturday’s championship round begins at noon, with the “if necessary” game to follow. All of Saturday’s action will be carried on ESPN3. The A-Sun’s Baseball Championship is scheduled for May 23-26, at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. The first pitch on championship Saturday is set for 1:00 p.m. ET. ESPN3 will also carry the “if necessary” game should the bracket call for a second game on championship Saturday.
