Signiant Redevelops and Expands Tech Partner Ecosystem

Signiant announced the redevelopment and expansion of its technology partner ecosystem. With Signiant solutions facilitating cross-vendor workflows for some of the world’s top media organizations, the company aims to advance vendor cooperation to bring together localized functions, such as transcoding and playout, into highly efficient global workflows.

Signiant’s partner network targets the complex challenges of today’s media companies as they rapidly expand their operations to support new delivery platforms including Web, mobile, and OTT. Companies must offer support for a wide array of diverse formats, and they have a critical need to exchange files seamlessly with service providers and distribution partners around the globe. Driven by connectivity and other developments such as digital capture, content owners and distributors are seeking more tightly integrated workflows for media aggregation, creation, and distribution as a way to meet faster delivery time frames and reduce operating costs.

“In the past, a media company might view the conversion of a post-production facility or playout center to a file-based workflow as an ‘island.’ Now, our customers talk about their global technical platform and how content must move seamlessly across it. This makes complex integration even more challenging, especially when you take into account the need for delivery to external partners and distributors,” said Tom Canavan, Signiant’s senior vice president of Strategic Development. “Signiant’s solution provides the backbone for these transport and delivery workflow processes, tightly integrating into the overall technology ecosystem.”

To meet these requirements, Signiant has adopted a broad partnering strategy spanning the media and entertainment value chain. Today, the company’s expanding partner ecosystem includes leading global providers of transcoding software and services, storage and archive management, automated quality control, digital asset management, conventional and channel-in-a-box playout systems, and monetization tools.

“By rekindling our commitment to active and productive partner relationships, Signiant is leading the industry toward greater vendor cooperation and support for standards,” added Canavan. “Working together, we can help our joint customers leverage their existing IT infrastructure and media technology investments to facilitate the level of innovation they require to address new business realities.”
