Brazil-Based Rede Record To Leverage WASP3D Technology for London Olympics

After the success of Guadalajara Pan American Games coverage, leading Brazilian broadcaster Rede Record entered into a deal with WASP3D for London Olympics 2012. The TV station will leverage WASP3D’s interactive graphics technology to deliver comprehensive sports analysis for the Olympics.

The touch screen based interactive technology will be used for illustrating and analyzing the sports event in a real-time environment. The broadcaster has already been using the WASP3D graphics technology for a while but decided to utilize WASP3D’s services for integrating the animations, database, and interactive applications, as well as for project management. WASP3D will be working closely with Rede Record’s graphics team for creating custom graphics and animations for the event.

According to José Marcelo, TV Record’s head of engineering and operations, “This is a strategic partnership in a very important event. It will allow our team to focus only at the graphics development and television production where we have vast experience.”

Tushar Kothari, Director WASP3D commented, “We are proud to be associated with Rede Record for such an expansive production.” “Winning such a significant repeat order not only demonstrates the capability of WASP3D but also shows our commitment towards our customers in providing them world-class services.”

WASP3D has extended the capabilities of its powerful real-time render engine to bring advanced touch screen based storytelling tool, WASPi Mimosa. Mimosa is equipped with 32 built-in customizable gestures and telestration tools for creating engaging anchor-driven presentations.
