Miranda Adds Industry Veteran Scott Murray to Run Multiviewer Team

Miranda Technologies Inc., a worldwide provider of production, playout and delivery systems for the television broadcast, cable, satellite and IPTV industries, has brought in a widely respected broadcast technology leader as vice president for its multiviewer products unit. Scott Murray joined Miranda at the beginning of March and will be primarily responsible for ensuring continued market leadership for the company in the multiviewer space.

Murray has 27 years’ experience in the broadcast equipment business, driving product strategy, marketing and engineering development. For the last decade, he had been in senior management, marketing and development positions at Grass Valley, most recently as its senior VP for live product solutions where he ran the production switcher and production automation product teams.

“Multiviewers have evolved from point products to being key components in both large and small solutions, helping broadcasters to work more effectively and efficiently,” said Marco Lopez, senior vice president, Infrastructure, Routers and Monitoring, Miranda. “Scott’s broad experience across broadcast production systems and infrastructure makes
him a great point of communication between our customers and our product development team, ensuring our customers stay ahead of the pack with future-proof solutions.”

The Miranda Kaleido range of multiviewers is designed to meet the growing need for systems installations which mix baseband video and IP. In a compact form factor they deliver unmatched picture quality and layout flexibility, along with exceptional cost, space and power efficiency. A central part of Murray’s new role will be creating and
maintaining the roadmap to maintain Miranda’s pre-eminence in the field.

Laurent Ruel continues in his role as vice president, Management and Control Systems and will work closely with Murray and his team.
