Filmwerks Adjusts to Challenges, Enjoys Successful Masters

Filmwerks successfully completed another year of providing CBS, ESPN, Golf Channel, and World Feed uninterrupted power for the Masters. According to Filmwerks owners Mike Satrazemis, this year did not come without its challenges which included bad weather, loss of house power, and long cable runs.

The truck-compound layout was changed at Augusta which moved Filmwerks generators down the hill some 200 yards. This move forced Filmwerks to put three 500kva transformers in line because they had to run the two megawatts of power in 480 volts.

It was crucial that all of the gear – along with the 11 transfer switches, were in place and ready to go prior to the arrival of all the production trucks.

In addition, a day before the tournament started, a strong storm ran through Augusta causing some issues with the local house power. This forced the World Feed to switch over from house power to generator power.

Filmwerks lead technician, Bob Peddie, and his crew handled the challenges and made sure that all of Filmwerks’ clients’ needs were met during their two weeks in Augusta.
