Bexel, a Vitec company, will hold an informational session at Vitec’s NAB booth (C6428) today at 4 p.m. PT, to address the importance of an optical network in large event productions like the NBA All-Star Game and The Masters. The panel will feature Bruce Goldfeder, Vice President, Engineering, CBS Sports; Mike Rokosa, Vice President, Operations and Engineering, NBA Entertainment; and Steven Thrap, Vice President, Broadcast Services, STAPLES Center/NOKIA Theatre L.A. Live. Bexel’s rentals booth is located at C6833.

Each will highlight how they plan, implement and utilize optical technology and equipment to meet the needs of large event productions. Make sure not to miss this must-see session!

Immediately following the Bexel session, the SVG and the Vitec Group will hold a reception and informational meeting at booth C6428 from 5-6 pm that will allow NAB attendees to learn more about the sport production industry’s most important charity: the SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund. The reception will provide a great networking opportunity as well as a chance to learn more about the SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund and how industry professionals can get involved.

Formed in December of last year, the Fund has been created to offer indirect financial assistance to those who work for sports networks, leagues, and related vendors and manufacturers who find themselves in a difficult situation due to illness, accident, or death.

The event will also feature a raffle of items that include a new Apple iPad, Canon G1X digital camera, Sony HX200 V CyberShot camera, as well three $250 gift cards.

The event is open to all NAB attendees and members of the media.
