Miranda Technologies Honored with Two Awards at NAB

Miranda Technologies, a global provider of integrated solutions for production, playout, and delivery systems for television broadcasters and multi-system operators, received two prestigious broadcast industry awards at the NAB 2012 show in Las Vegas.

“Our solutions originate from the real-world requirements of our customers,” said Michel Proulx, Miranda’s chief technology officer. “Awards such as these are acknowledgement that our market-leading solutions resonate with objective experts in the trade press and with our global customers as well.”

TV Technology magazine honored Miranda’s iTX Master Control (iTX MC), an elegant integration of the market-leading iTX integrated playout platform with Miranda’s Imagestore master control system, with its ‘STAR’ (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award.

ITX MC provides local stations, national networks or sports broadcasters with a combination of playout automation and fully featured live event functionality, with enhanced live multi-input switching and familiar manual control capabilities. iTX MC provides this “no compromises” approach to playout flexibility, power, and simplicity with proven scalability and full integration with the existing iTX platform.

Miranda’s new LUMO high-density fiber converter series was tapped by a panel of independent judges for Broadcast Engineering magazine’s ‘Pick Hit’ award, which recognizes innovative products and technologies that deliver demonstrable technical and financial improvements to a facility’s operation.

As experience with fiber installations increase, costs are coming down, and because fiber offers the best signal integrity for high-bandwidth 3Gbps signals, at much longer cable distances, it is a compelling, cost-effective alternative to traditional coax. LUMO
provides high density electrical-to-optical and optical-to-electrical converter, packing 36 I/Os into a 1RU, lightweight and compact frame.
