CP Communications Collaborates with MultiDyne on Fiber Optics
CP Communications, providers of fiber-optic equipment and rentals for broadcasting and entertainment, has announced a major fiber optic deal with Multidyne Video and Fiber Optic Systems. CP and Mutlidyne have collaborated on many projects before, and this latest venture is just another of many more to come.
CP, using Mutlidyne fiber solutions, has developed the Multicomm HD camera transport system. The Multicomm allows users to transport HD/SDI bi-directionally, 232/422/485 data and GPIO plus Tally, analog video/genlock and bi-directional audio on two strands of glass. CP and Multidyne are also building POV/PTZ camera fiber optics for use with robotic camera systems.
“We are already using Multicomm systems in the field for our RF HD camera solutions and now we are using going to use 4 Multicomm sets for NBC coverage of the Tournament Players Championship. These systems will be used to transport audio/video/data and communications to Action Cam and Matrix Cam. Having all that signal on two strands of glass is very efficient and that’s what we are always trying to accomplish efficiency in the market,” says Kurt Heitmann, SVP of CP. “The PTZ/POV solution is a three part solution that allows the camera head, paint controller and PTZ operator panel to be remotely located in different areas all on 2 strands of glass. We had a Bradley Engineering Camball2 HD PTZ/ POV system at NAB in the Multidyne booth and we got some very good positive feedback. We will have 5 Bradley Engineering HD POV camera systems at TPC this year for NBC using our fiber transport systems.”
