Dimetis Releases Aspera-integrated Contribution Workflow Solution for Broadcasters

Aspera, creators of next-generation software technologies, and Dimetis, a provider of IP broadcast management software, announced a technology alliance and partnership along with the immediate availability of the Aspera integrated BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager.

The Dimetis BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager brings connectivity and automation to data exchange workflows by moving large media files while hiding system and workflow complexity from the end user. With advanced features including resource scheduling, simplified user management, work process supervision and low level SLA reporting, it unifies, simplifies, and reduces operational costs. BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager requests the needed network resources dynamically, and with an interface to BOSS LINK Manager reserves and guarantees path and bandwidth for the transfer service. With the direct integration of Aspera, the end user’s full available bandwidth can be utilized and thus transfer times can be precisely calculated in advance and delivery of mission critical content guaranteed. In addition, Aspera is very lightweight and does not require specialized or powerful hardware to maintain the high speeds used in broadcast infrastructures.

“With over 1600 customers worldwide Aspera is the defacto standard with Telco and IPTV providers around the world relying on Aspera for their high-speed transfer needs” said Dimetis’ Chief Technical Officer & Chief Operating Officer Dr. Shahin Arefzadeh. “The very open, robust and flexible nature of the Aspera APIs has allowed us to very quickly create a very tight integration and quickly go to market together.”

“Dimetis is strongly established in Europe and quickly growing in both the North American and Asia Pacific broadcast markets,” said John Wastcoat, vice president at Aspera. “With a mind to making technology choices easier for customers in the broadcast market, Dimetis is an ideal addition to the Aspera Technology Alliance Program aimed at delivering complete solutions to the marketplace resulting in decreased complexity, uncertainty and operational costs for the end-customer.”
