SVG Introduces Tool To Help Broadcasters Find Runners, Production Assistants

The Sports Video Group and the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) have created the SVG/BEA Runners Network, a Website designed to give sports broadcasters, leagues, teams, and related TV-production entities a tool to more easily find production assistants and runners for their productions.

The Website, found here, lists the contact information for college and university broadcast professors who are interested in helping match broadcasters with their most suitable students.

“The professors have the best sense of the capabilities of their students and which ones are most appropriate for a given production ’s needs,” says Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG executive director, editorial. “For example, broadcasters can call them up and request a specific skill set or maturity level, and the professors can ensure there are fewer surprises for both the student and those who are hiring them.”

Expect additional professors to be added to the Website in the coming months. To apply to be listed on the site, please contact Kerschbaumer at kenkersch@sportsvideo.org.
