LTS Showcase Preview: A Roundup of Exhibitor Offerings, Part 3

The 2012 League Technology Summit is fast approaching, and SVG will have more exhibitors on the Technology Showcase floor than ever before. In the weeks leading up to LTS, SVG is highlighting the new products and latest technologies that will be on display at the New York Hilton on Dec. 10 and 11.

Clear-Com
Clear-Com has expanded its technical partnership with Optocore/BroaMan and will now distribute the new BroaMan DiViNe V3R-FX-ICOM-SDI signal-transport interface. Suited for any setup that requires multiple feeds of high-quality audio, video, data, and intercom, the system provides scalable, protocol-independent routing, repeating, transport, and distribution of multiple signals over optical fiber and is equipped with four four-wire RJ45 intercom ports. Users can send audio and control data from intercom key panels or matrices transparently through the optical network. The unit is capable of housing up to six SD/HD/3G-SDI coaxial video inputs. BroaMan DiViNe is an application-engineered, protocol-independent video, audio, and data network capable of deployment in multiple topologies, with or without redundancy and control.

FUJINON
FUJINON’s new XA99x8.4field lens combines high-performance imaging, a long zoom reach, and an ultra-wide angle. Extremely rugged, versatile, and reliable, this telephoto zoom lens is suited for demanding live sports productions. It features a newly developed, patented image-stabilization technology for rock-steady performance, which is especially critical for long-distance HD shots. This ⅔-in. telephoto field lens also features the latest High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating (HT-EBC) for richer colors and greatly improved blue response and transmittance. HT-EBC couples with FUJINON’s exclusive Aspheric Technology to reduce ghost and flare and increase light transmission. A proprietary anti-fogging design minimizes lens fogging and reduces downtime due to moisture — a critical concern for shooting in all types of weather conditions.

Grass Valley
Grass Valley will demonstrate the LDX Series of camera system: the LDX Première, LDX Elite, and LDX WorldCam. With uncompromised performance in 1080p50/60, full compatibility with Grass Valley’s line of 3G transmission solutions, and stunning 1080p/1080i/720p images, the LDX Series is based on three completely new, state-of-the-art, third-generation CMOS imagers, Grass Valley’s Xensium-FT. The cameras boast an ergonomic design with such time-saving features as improved color management and automated controls. The company will also show its 3G camera-connectivity system that eliminates the triax/fiber problem without compromising quality or operational flexibility. 3G Fiber and 3G Triax put all the functionality that users have come to expect from fiber — including 1080p50/60 transmission and two digital HD-video return paths — on both cable types without compromise or limitation.

Riedel Communications
Riedel Communications and Grass Valley will highlight the new MediorNet interface card for integrating Grass Valley cameras into MediorNet fiber networks, allowing flexible remote-production scenarios. The MN-GV-2 card allows the user to network Grass Valley 3G camera systems and base station, including the LDK and the brand-new LDX Series, via MediorNet. This provides a solution for routing bidirectional camera signals, including all embedded audio and telemetry control data, through the MediorNet fiber infrastructure. MediorNet’s network approach allows free assignment of cameras to any base station/CCU within the network, providing flexibility in setup and eliminating the need for rewiring when production configurations change. The MN-GV-2 card offers two Grass Valley 3G fiber ports that connect to either cameras or base stations. The card fits into MediorNet Modular Mainframes, occupying a single card slot with at least two high-speed ports.

Wohler Technologies
Among  the products that Wohler Technologies will showcase are the AMP1-16M dual-input SDI audio monitor, the AMP1-MADIe in-rack audio monitor, the AMP2-E16V-M Dolby audio/video workstation, the Presto video and audio switcher, and a variety of quad-split video monitors from the RM Series. The Wohler RadiantGrid New Media Automation Platform will also be on display. RadiantGrid’s technology for automating file-based conversion offers faster–than–real-time asset transformation for multiplatform delivery. The company will also demonstrate its new WohlerCoder file-based transcoding tool and WohlerConverter file-based frame-rate– and standards-conversion platform, as well as WohlerLoudness with AERO.file technology for file-based loudness management.
