Miranda Secures Video Distribution Win with Shanghai Media Group

Miranda Technologies, a global provider of integrated solutions for production, playout and delivery systems for television broadcasters and multi-system operators, has closed a deal to supply more than 1000 Densité HDA-1911 modules to Shanghai Media Group (SMG).

The sale supplements more than 1000 HDA-1911 modules already in place at SMG’s facility. The HDA-1911 is a 3G/HD/SD-SDI video distribution module and will be used by SMG to form the first-tier entrance matrix for incoming sources for subsequent distribution to downstream applications such as ingest, production and NLEs.

MirandaLogoCentral to SMG’s decision to replace existing modules with the HDA-1911 is the ability to perform routine maintenance, such as cable swapping or rear-plate replacement, without running the risk of the entire frame powering down. Modules are hot-swappable in the Densité frame, which offers front-opening access to dual power supplies, fans and all modules, which can be replaced and configured automatically with no disruption to service.

“SMG is heavily populated with Mirandamodules, most of which reside in our Densité 2 frames, the most compact in the industry,” says Sophie Wang, president of Miranda Technologies Asia. “This significant sale of additional modules is not only evidence of their satisfaction with Miranda’s performance and reliability; it enables SMG to continue the expansion of its multi-platform content offerings.”
