Levels Beyond appointed corporate sales veteran Chuck Buelow as director of technical sales for the Americas.

The newly created position, based in Los Angeles, is part of the Denver-based company’s aggressive global push.

In another move to broaden its international reach, Levels Beyond will open an office in London to serve current clients in the U.K. and expand throughout Europe. A London-based team of technical and sales professionals will be headed by newly appointed EMEA Managing Director Paul Phillips.

Levels Beyond aims to become the leading software provider for video content companies globally, providing local expertise for sales, support and administration.

Levels Beyond’s Reach Engine enables media organizations, live event producers, production houses, advertising agencies and corporate media departments to securely and seamlessly streamline complex workflows around video creation, library management, packaging and distribution to traditional and non-traditional media outlets. Compatible with all major digital content creation hardware and software, Reach Engine’s focus on integration and open standards allows customers to meet the demands of rapidly changing media distribution and consumer landscapes.  Some of the world‘s largest and most sophisticated media companies license Levels Beyond’s Reach Engine software.

“I’m look forward to building a sales team to expand sales of the innovative Reach Engine system throughout North America and Latin America,“ said Buelow, who comes to Levels Beyond following an eight-year tenure in North American products sales for Telestream Inc.

Buelow began his career in the computer industry, launching consumer electronic products including the first computer sound card and MP3 Player in the retail market place. His professional experience also includes serving ass vice president of sales and marketing for a video encoding company, where he was instrumental in developing and launching several well known video capture and NLE products.

“Chuck is a seasoned and savvy pro with the requisite knowledge and ability to lead our charge into new markets throughout the Americas,“ Levels Beyond CEO Art Raymond said. “We are delighted to welcome  him aboard as we ramp up our new office in Los Angeles.“

Phillips was part of the founding management of computer-hardware maker Active Storage, an Intel Capital Portfolio Company, where he built a worldwide network of dedicated resellers and distributors. Previously, he served as EMEA sales director for Kazeon Systems, a developer of eDiscovery software products which was later acquired by EMC.  Other prior experience includes serving as managing director  of computer hardware company Micronet Europe, where he built a sales, support and distribution team from the ground up.

“Having successfully built several international sales and support organizations, I am ready to quickly scale-up Levels Beyond’s expansion beyond the U.S.,“ Phillips said. “It is clear to me that the U.K. and other European markets will respond to the clear value proposition that the Reach Engine software provides as we help organizations meet the demands of today‘s fast-evolving media landscape.“

Phillips expects to hire video software workflow programmers initially at the London office with sales and technical support staff to follow.

“Paul has an acknowledged reputation in the media and entertainment market for identifying and nurturing customer relationships with national and international broadcasters, post producers and creatives at the highest level,“ said Nick Rhodes, president and chief operating office of Levels Beyond.  “He is the perfect choice to lead our European expansion.“
