Envivio and Vinson Selected by Belgian Broadcasters for Mobile TV Services

Envivio, a provider of live and on-demand multi-screen IP video processing and delivery solutions, announced an integration with the new Vinson mobile TV solution, and deployment of the joint solution for three broadcasters in Belgium. The combined solution — incorporating Envivio software-based encoding and the Vinson app for navigation and social media integration — offers viewers premium quality video and a new television experience on mobile devices.

Ten Flemish TV channels from broadcasters VRT, VMMa, and SBS Belgium are now available as a trial service for live and time-shifted viewing using the Stievie application, developed by Vinson. Live and on-demand content for the service is encoded by Envivio Muse encoders, offering viewers best-in-class video quality on any screen.

“Our flexible solutions are used by operators of all types for the full spectrum of video services, from HDTV to OTT and mobile,” said Julien Signès, Envivio’s president and CEO. “The Vinson user interface is an innovative approach that offers intuitive navigation, seamless viewing of live or on-demand assets and instant access to social media for the connected viewer. As preferred partners, we can offer operators a compelling service for mobile video consumption.”

“The Envivio Muse encoders provide our customers with the highest quality video whether for live streaming or on-demand viewing after the program has aired,” said Michael Plein, Vinson CEO. “Our collaboration with Envivio has been ongoing for several years, and we are pleased to take it to the next level with our latest generation Vinson mobile TV solution. Envivio’s products are a step ahead of the competition and enable us to enrich our new features, and provide the best user experience for mobile devices.”

More than 300 content and service providers around the globe have selected Envivio to power their multiscreen services.
