Thinklogical Expands Routing, Video Extension Solutions to Asian Markets

Thinklogical LLC, a global manufacturer of secure fiber optic video and KVM routing and extension systems, announced that it will be introducing its advanced 4K KVM and video extension solutions to the Japanese and Chinese markets during special press events to be held in Tokyo on May 9 and Beijing on May 14. The Thinklogical SDIXtreme solutions support the extension of SMPTE standard 4K signals for a variety of broadcast and postproduction applications.

According to the international audio-visual industry trade association InfoComm, the Asia Pacific region is experiencing the most growth out of all pro-AV markets, and this is being driven by both China and India who are experiencing CAGRs of over 20 percent. Further, the Asia Pacific market is already the 2nd largest pro-AV market in the world, and has a chance at catching North America (#1) in the next decade if their expansive growth continues. InfoComm also reports that the top two markets in the Asia Pacific region are China and Japan (with China being nearly twice the size).

“Thinklogical is proud to be first to the Japanese and Chinese markets with these 4K SMPTE/Digital Cinema extension solutions,” said Joe Pajer, president and CEO of Thinklogical. “Customers will now have the ability to extend and switch 4K signal streams, without sacrificing the higher resolution, frame rates and color depth provided by the SMPTE 4K standard.”

The SMPTE 4K Digital Cinema standard references high definition video delivered at a resolution of 4096 × 2160 pixels, twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p HDTV format, with four times as many pixels overall. The new Thinklogical 4K products, which were introduced at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference and exhibition last month in the United States, are able to extend 4K signals from four HD-SDI inputs or two 3G inputs over a single multi-mode or single mode fiber, with no compression, latency, artifacts or lost frames.  The new products are in addition to Thinklogical’s previously released 4K solutions for single or dual link DVI signals.

Thinklogical’s fiber-optic router and extender solutions help organizations control the sources, use and display of KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) and audio signals and content. With the fastest fiber-optic router solutions in the industry (6.25 Gbps), Thinklogical is able to route and extend uncompressed video with no frame loss and related audio or KVM signals at the speed of light, up to 40 kilometers, without compromising the integrity of the content.
