RailRiders Saddle Up with Daktronics for Game Day

The Creative Services division of Daktronics has produced and delivered creative content for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders minor league baseball team of Moosic, PA. The content will help brand the team’s new moniker, RailRiders, as well as create an enticing game-day atmosphere by using the recently installed 15HD LED video display from Daktronics.

“I’ve been to many ballparks in Minor League Baseball and few are as technologically advanced as the reconstructed PNC Field,” says SWB President and General Manager Rob Crain. “The high definition Daktronics products that will be incorporated into new PNC Field are incredible and we could not be happier with the partnership.”

With the newly reconstructed stadium at PNC Field, the RailRiders are capitalizing on their re-branding effort with a mascot introduction animation. Daktronics created a digital model of the new mascot, Quill, and incorporated other realistic elements into the fully-animated environment that welcomes fans to the new stadium. The piece focuses on Quill’s adventurous “Rail-Riding” on his way into the new stadium.

Daktronics also produced a trolley race animation that pays homage to area trolleys that date back to the 1920s and were updated in the past few years to include a new station next to PNC Field. This animation, sponsored by Red Robin, has trolleys race from a Red Robin location through a digitally animated environment that ends at PNC Field. Digital models were created for the Red Robin and PNC field locations and also of the trolleys themselves.

“Working with the RailRiders has been a great experience,” adds Nick Long, Daktronics Creative Services account manager. “Being able to play a role in the overall branding of the team’s game-day presence has been very rewarding. The RailRiders organization has been exceptional to work with. They had a vision for what they wanted us to create and our artists were able to exceed their expectations. The pieces turned out beautifully and were met with high regard and praise.”
