Campus Clips: Launches Mobile App for Men’s College World Series; Longhorn Network to Air First Two Texas Football Games

College baseball fans attending the 2013 NCAA Men’s College World Series (June 15-25/26) in Omaha will have all the event information at their fingertips courtesy of a new free app available for iPhone, iPod touch, and select Android devices. The NCAA Men’s College World Series app will include complete tournament and Fan Fest schedules, interactive maps, news, live scores, ticket information, social media integration, and more.

In addition to the College World Series app, will provide content throughout the tournament including editorial coverage, score updates, real-time game highlights, post-game photo galleries, press conferences and more.

…Longhorn Network will launch its third year with exclusive national telecasts of football matchups against New Mexico State on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Ole Miss on Saturday, Sept. 14. Kickoff for both games is set for 7 p.m. CT.  Both games will air live in HD from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

At Texas’ season opener against New Mexico State, UT will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1963 national championship game, when the Longhorns claimed their first national football crown. LHN will also mark the anniversary with specialty programming including a 60-minute documentary looking back at the ’63 team.

LHN’s two-hour Texas GameDay – the only pre-game show to air exclusively from inside DKR stadium – returns for Fall 2013 to give fans insight, analysis and one-on-one interviews by LHN’s Lowell Galindo. Joining Texas GameDay and Texas GameDay Finalwill be Ahmad Brooks, former defensive player for the Longhorns and team captain in 2001. LHN’s Kaylee Hartung will return to provide reporting from the sidelines…

…The Big Ten and the Pinstripe Bowl announced an 8-year agreement at Yankee Stadium on Monday afternoon. The Big Ten will replace the Big 12 in the bowl game in 2014 and run until 2021. In last year’s Pinstripe Bowl, Syracuse dismantled West Virginia for a 38-14 victory before a record-crowd of 41,203. The 2013 game will take place on Dec. 28 on ESPN…

…ESPN has added eight Pac-12 Conference college football games to its 2013 schedule for ESPN, ABC and ESPN2 telecasts. The schedule includes two Thursday and two Friday night games, and concludes with the season-ending Pac-12 Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7. It will mark the first time an ESPN platform will televise the conference title game…

…The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s (MAAC) has selected ANC Sports Enterprises as the Conference’s official LED supplier as voted on by the MAAC’s Council of Presidents. Through the multi-year partnership, ANC will supply seven 10mm LED Courtside Signage Systems to the MAAC for use by the Conference’s member schools. Ensuring each Conference member maximizes the capabilities of the advanced courtside technology, ANC will also create an unlimited amount of school branding, statistical templates, sponsor animations and entertaining content for each of the signage systems.
