Across the River to the Jersey Side: NHL Travels to Prudential Center for the 2013 Draft

For the first time in the half-century history of NHL Entry Draft, the league’s annual event will call the New York City metropolitan area – Newark, NJ, to be exact – home.  And, for the first time since 2006, all seven rounds will be conducted on the same day: this Sunday, June 30.

Beginning at 3 p.m. ET, TSN, NBC Sports Network, and NHL Network will carry the 2013 NHL Draft in its entirety for hockey fans north and south of the border.

TSN
TSN will be on hand at Prudential Center – home of the New Jersey Devils – to broadcast eight-consecutive hours of live Draft coverage, beginning with the 2013 NHL Draft Preview show at 2:30 p.m. ET. Jamie Duthie will host the 30-minute preview special from the arena, alongside TSN’s Draft Panel, including panel host Gord Miller, draft expert Bob McKenzie, and analysts Ray Ferraro and Pierre McGuire. French-language coverage will be available on RDS.

TSNDuthie will hosts TSN’s coverage from the Draft stage, interviewing GMs and players following their selections. Miller will host TSN’s Draft Panel, which plans to tee up each first-round selection and provide instant analysis. Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, TSN Scout Craig Button, and reporter Ryan Rishaug will report from the Draft floor.

TSN returns its DRAFTCENTRE Social Lounge on TSN.ca, hosted by Cabral ‘Cabbie’ Richards, delivering exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews, videos, and photos from the TSN Social Lounge located on the Draft floor.

Fans can live stream the TSN DRAFTCENTRE Social Lounge on TSN.ca on Sunday, June 30 beginning at 3 p.m. ET. Content will also be available on-demand. Fans can interact with the TSN DRAFTCENTRE Social Lounge on Twitter with the hashtags #TSN and #NHLDRAFT.

In addition, the TSN app for iPhone and iPad will bring fans every pick from the 2013 NHL DRAFT.

NBC Sports Network
NBC Sports NetworkFrom the Colorado Avalanche’s first pick to the last, NBC Sports Network will carry TSN’s coverage of all seven rounds of the Draft.

In addition, NBC Sports Live Extra will stream NBC Sports Network’s coverage to desktops, mobile devices, and tablets. The NBC Sports Live Extra app for mobile devices and tablets is available at the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and on select Android devices within Google Play.

NHL Network
Following its coverage of the Chicago Blackhawks’ 2013 Stanley Cup Champions Parade on Friday, NHL Network’s NHL 2013 Draft coverage begins on Saturday with the 2013 NHL Network Scouting Combine Recap at 5 p.m. ET and NHL Tonight: 2013 Mock Draft at 6 p.m. ET. On Draft Day, NHL Network will take to the airwaves at 1 p.m. ET with NHL Tonight: 2013 NHL Draft Preview, followed by the Draft in its entirety.  After the last pick, NHL Network will broadcast NHL Tonight: 2013 NHL Draft Recap.

NHL-Network-NEWNHL Tonight’s Mark Roe will host the Scouting Combine Recap and 2013 Mock Draft joined by NHL Network analyst Craig Button and, for the Mock Draft, former Stanley Cup Champion Dave Reid. Kathryn Tappen will host both the Draft Preview and Draft Recap shows, joined by Button, Reid, NHL Live host EJ Hradek, and NHL Network analyst (and former NHL player) Mike Johnson.

On the web, NHL.com will have wall-to-wall coverage of top drafts prospects, live chats with selected players, mock drafts from our experts, pick-by-pick coverage, video highlights of draft picks addressing the media, plus team-by-team reviews and post-draft analysis. Fans will also be able to view all results from their phones and tablets through the NHL GameCenter app. Live streams of the NHL Draft Preshow and NHL Draft Recap Show will also be available on NHL.com.
