Alpha Video Sports to Integrate New Kansas State Athletics’ Control Room

The Alpha Video Sports & Entertainment Group, the leading national video integrator for the sports venue industry, has been selected by K-State Athletics, Inc. to provide a new HD video control room and studio as a part of the new West Stadium Center at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

AlphaVideoThe control room will be used to produce in-game video for both Bill Snyder Family Stadium and Bramlage Coliseum. The system is also designed to allow for television or web stream broadcasts to be produced. A small production studio will allow for the taping of coach’s shows and other programming while five edit suites will allow for the post production of that content.

Major components of the new control room include two new Sony HXC100 studio cameras (to compliment the four that they already owned), a Grass Valley Karrera 3 ME production switcher, a Chyron LEX 3.1 character generator, an EVS XT Nano replay system, a Harris Platinum series routing switcher, Harris HViewSX series multi-image viewers and AJA frame synchronizers and infrastructure hardware.

In addition to the HD control room, the Sports Group has also been contracted by Mortenson Construction, the general contractor for the West Stadium Center project, to hang approximately three hundred-sixty five new Panasonic HD televisions in sizes ranging from 15″ to 70″.

“We are thrilled to once again team with Alpha Video Sports for a project as special as the West Stadium Center,” said Brian Smoller, Broadcasting/Director of Video Services at K-State Athletics. “Jeff and his team are outstanding partners and have put together a first-class integration plan and proposal. We look forward to adding yet another innovative feature to this transformational new facility at K-State.”

Work is currently underway on the project and is scheduled for completion in time for the start of K-State’s fall sports schedule.

“We are extremely pleased to have been selected by Kanas State for this exciting new upgrade,” added Jeffrey Volk, Director of Alpha Video Sports. “The new HD control room and production studio will allow Powercat Vision and K-StateHD.TV to produce exciting new content and programming that fans will love no matter if it’s in venue, online or over the air. The new HD televisions for the West Stadium Center will only add to the amenities of what is a beautiful new complex.”
