IMS Productions Continues to Upgrade Technology, Add to Fleet

IMS Productions (IMSP), an innovative and cutting-edge video production company, continues to make major equipment and technology upgrades.

“We are perhaps the luckiest company in existence today,” said Robert Greene, president of IMSP. “From the absolute best possible partners and clients to the most talented of staff in the business, we feel we’re hard to compete with in providing mobile TV productions.”

IMSP’s HD3 (capable of producing in 1080p) will debut at Staples Center later this year for the kickoff of the 2013-14 NBA season, representing the exclusive mobile production home of the Los Angeles Lakers. HD3, a 53-foot single expando unit, will be equipped with 12 Sony cameras complemented by Canon lenses, a Kayenne video production switcher and a Calrec Artemis audio console.

IMSP recently signed a multi-year deal with Time Warner Cable to be the exclusive provider of high-definition mobile production services for the English and Spanish broadcasts of the Lakers, the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks and MLS’s Los Angeles Galaxy. IMSP broadcasts of these teams began during the 2012-13 seasons.

“Time Warner Cable is and has been a true partner in trusting us with this world-renowned brand in the Lakers,” Greene said. “The entire team is so well-respected in their space. It is our honor to be working for and learning from them.”

IMSP has also added HD4 to its mobile fleet. Like HD3, this truck is a 53-foot, standalone single expando unit. Complemented with 10 cameras, HD4 produced the TORC Series in 2013 and recently hosted the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals in North Carolina.

IMSP’s new Super B unit (B1) debuted earlier this year at IndyCar’s Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. B1 includes a Calrec Artemis audio console and the capability of distributing more than 100 sources with built-in cross conversion. While this unit truly defines state-of-the-art in technology, perhaps the most eloquent attribute is its spacious production room capable of serving as a second control room or a deluxe graphics suite.
