Adtec Digital Launches iOS Multi-Viewer Mobile App

Adtec Digital, a market leader in compression solutions, announced the launch of their new iOS Multi-Viewer mobile application. The Multi-Viewer mobile application allows users to monitor and control real-time video transmission and manage multiple Adtec encoders and IRDs locally or remotely. The Multi-Viewer mobile application can be accessed with internet connected devices on demand, at any time and from anywhere in the world.

“The Multi-Viewer mobile application is a major industry advancement and the first of its kind,” states Kevin Ancelin, SVP sales and service for Adtec Digital. “It is the first platform approach and mobile application in our industry; designed specifically to enhance the ease of operation for satellite truck operators, network TOC/NOC, distribution networks, backhaul/trunking, and in live event situations providing multiple video and audio thumbnails on any iOS device.”

Dennis Baltimore, manager of transmission and distribution for TWC Sports Regional Network, has been using the Multi-Viewer platform since its launch in early June. “We use Adtec encoders and decoders for our transmission of local broadcasts at various venues, and the mobile app allows me to remotely manage the equipment and adjust internal settings along with monitoring the output of each device by the thumbnails attached to each unit,” explains Baltimore. “This is very helpful to us when our onsite technicians experience technical issues as the mobile app allows me to access the equipment and make corrections or direct my team through troubleshooting procedures.  It’s a great tool to have and I recommend it to anyone who has an iPad and the Adtec equipment.”

Available for use on the iPad, iPhone, or iPad Touch, the Multi-Viewer is free on iTunes and in the Apple Store, requires iOS 5.0 or later, and is optimized for iPhone 5. It is available in English, German, Northern Sami, and Spanish. The Multi-Viewer platform will continue to evolve as future products are released.
