The Patriot League Partners With Campus Insiders to Create Digital Network

The Patriot League, in collaboration with Campus Insiders, announced the creation of the Patriot League Network (PLN).

Beginning in the fall of 2013, this multi-year agreement will see the Patriot League live-stream hundreds of its men and women’s sporting events, add branded studio programming, develop sponsorship opportunities, and grow distribution on multiple platforms and devices.

PLN_Logo_MASTERSince its launch in the fall of 2006, the Patriot League digital programming has offered more than 150 live events annually, which were also available on demand. Among those live events were coverage of 11 championships in 2012-13 and the entire League portion of the men and women’s basketball season. Powered by Campus Insiders, the enhanced PLN will continue to provide on-demand video content, as well as live-stream an unprecedented number of events and numerous interviews, feature stories and highlight packages throughout the year.

PLN offers marketers with a unique opportunity to reach a targeted audience both regionally and nationally, as well as enhancing the League’s multimedia presence. The League also has a multi-sport television agreement with CBS Sports Network which includes live event coverage of football, men and women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse.

All Patriot League programming will be available through www.campusinsiders.com, the online destination and leading digital content syndication source for college sports, as well as through the Patriot League and member institution websites. Campus Insiders, a partnership between Silver Chalice Ventures and IMG College, goes beyond the traditional sports media experience, giving dedicated fans an insider’s perspective that includes behind-the-scenes content, original video programming (including hosts Bonnie Bernstein and Seth Davis) and live streaming events. Campus Insiders will incorporate the Patriot League into its many existing distribution relationships, including partners on VOD, OTT and IP-Connected platforms. This partnership will also include the development and management of a comprehensive Patriot League Network portal on Campus Insiders’ website, mobile app and YouTube Channel.

Available to fans in mid-August, high-quality PLN content will be accessible on multiple devices, including laptops, smartphones and tablets, and will feature 10 unique channels of Patriot League action. Each of the league’s institutions will have its own individual school-branded channel, while the Patriot League will offer a Conference-wide channel featuring all available digital content. In addition, beginning in 2014, Campus Insiders will produce TV-quality basketball and football games for PLN, as well as various other sports and championship events. The Patriot League will also provide reports and content from its PLN Correspondent for Campus Insiders and PLN.

“As the Patriot League prepares to launch its digital network this coming year, the partnership with Campus Insiders provides a wonderful gateway to stream contests in multiple sports to our audiences, free of charge,” said Daniel H. Weiss, former President of Lafayette College and outgoing chair of the Patriot League Council of Presidents. “It also will prove to be a great complimentary piece to the League’s CBS Sports Network TV package.”

“The Patriot League features tremendous student-athletes and programs, as we are proud to be partnering with them,” said Crowley Sullivan, general manager of Campus Insiders. “This is a great match of college sports content and Campus Insiders distribution platforms that will enable us to best serve the fans of the Patriot League and its member schools.”

Campus Insiders has similar content portals and agreements with the Atlantic Coast Conference, Mountain West Conference and West Coast Conference, in addition to the University of Oregon.
