SVG Launches Sports Venue Technology Page and White Paper

The Sports Video Group is proud to introduce its Sports Venue Technology page, a go-to source for the latest in new builds, renovations, audio, technology, and more. In addition, the page links to SVG’s recently launched Venue Initiative White Paper, featuring contributions from SVG’s Venue Initiative Committee.

The White Paper, titled “Recommendations for Sports Venue Production Design,” is a resource of peer-reviewed “best practice” guidelines for venue owners, operators, developers, architects, and other interested parties considering a sports/entertainment venue new build or renovation project. The intention is to provide a baseline of information that will serve as a guideline for broadcast, A/V, and scoreboard–control-room design.

The document provides the recommended minimum requirements that will permit a modest technology infrastructure for current day-to-day in-house use and will also allow network broadcasters to come in and cover events ad hoc with minimal facility impact.

Currently, the White Paper provides infrastructure and operations guidelines for mobile broadcast units, truck compounds, and scoreboard control rooms, with additional topics to come.
