Time Warner Cable Launches Longhorn Network

Last week, on the eve of the 2013-14 University of Texas football season, ESPN and Time Warner Cable announced that Longhorn Network is available to Time Warner Cable video subscribers in Texas. Longhorn Network is the 24/7 channel devoted to UT athletics and academics as well as cultural programming from in and around the greater Austin community.

Longhorn Network launches August 30 for Time Warner Cable video customers in time for kick off against New Mexico State last Sarturday. The network is available for Time Warner Cable video customers in Texas on its expanded basic cable service. Longhorn Network is available in the greater Austin area on channel 1593 in HD and channel 444 in SD.

”We’re really excited to have reached an agreement that brings Longhorn Network’s programming to Time Warner Cable,” said Andrew Rosenberg, Senior Vice President, Content Acquisition for Time Warner Cable. “We know we count a lot of UT fans among our customers, and we’ve worked hard with our colleagues at ESPN to finalize an agreement in time to bring them tomorrow’s game.”

Added David Preschlack, executive vice president, Disney and ESPN Media Networks: “We are extremely pleased to have reached an agreement with Time Warner Cable in time for college football.  This deal will better serve UT fans in the greater Austin area and Texas statewide.”
