David Levy and Sean McManus to Keynote SVG Summit in December

The SVG Summit, the sports production industry’s premier event being held on December 16-17 at the New York Hilton, has announced that the two keynote conversations for this year’s program are David Levy, President, Turner Broadcasting Systems, and Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports.  These executive one-on-ones will highlight two days of senior-level panels, presentations, and workshops, which culminate with the annual Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame on the evening of December 17.

SVGSummitKeynoteSlider2 Formerly the League Technology Summit, the rebranded SVG Summit reflects SVG’s broadened membership and areas of conference concentration at this annual industry meeting, which last year drew more than 900 sports production executives representing virtually all major sports leagues, sports broadcasters, and their service and technology provider partners.

This year’s theme is “The Business of Sports Production,” and the event kicks off on the morning of December 16 with the DTV Audio Group, Women’s Sports Media Initiative, and the Sports Production Safety Group. Day One workshops on Sports Post and Sports Asset Management are also planned.

SVG will also hold a number of committee meetings for on-going initiatives, including the SVG Venue Initiative, SVG College Advisory Board, and the SVG Production/IT Committee. Afternoon sessions are planned on the future of remote production, big data and big graphics, the evolving virtual compound, and a preview of ESPN’s new Digital Center 2 presented by ESPN CTO and 2013 Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductee Chuck Pagano.

In addition to the McManus and Levy keynote conversations, Day Two (December 17) of the Summit will feature panel discussions focused on basketball, baseball, and football as well as sessions on second-screen storytelling and an update on regional sports activities. Featuring the popular networking luncheon, the day also serves as a showcase for more than 60 technology solutions providers who will demonstrate their latest tools and technologies.

This year’s Summit will also be the site of the inaugural NewsTech Forum, a new, two-day, co-located event for news technology executives co-produced by TVNewsCheck.

Registration for the SVG Summit is now open and is available on a complimentary basis to all SVG members. Non-members can apply for SVG membership by clicking here.
