General Cable Highlights Gepco Brand Time Saving Tool and Cables at AES

General Cable focused on time savings as it highlights its Gepco Brand Online Paneldesigner and Gepco Brand RunONE Powered Cables at last weekend’s 135th AES Convention.

Gepco_lowrezWith Paneldesigner, the user-friendly, visual interface for designing custom panels; and RunONE Powered Cables, a portable and fast solution that combines power, audio and optional data under a single durable and flexible jacket; users can free up their time and energy for other critical tasks at hand.

From wall plates to custom rack-mountable chassis, Gepco has long been able to produce almost any type of custom panel for Broadcast or Professional A/V applications. Now, Paneldesigner’s time-saving, visual interface allows the user to choose the panel type, size, material, finish, connectors and lettering options so the user can quickly and easily submit his or her custom panel for a quote or order. Expandable menus provide easy reference for the multitude of connectors available, while the drag and drop interface makes designing a panel simple.

A user can get started with just a few clicks by typing in an email and password.  When registering for a full account, all of the user’s projects can be stored within the account and  edited and referenced at any time. The online Paneldesigner is available for use and can be found on the Gepco.com Website.

With multiple uses for corporations, DJs, lighting rigs and tours, RunONE Powered Cables allow the user to pull a single cable in place of multiple cables, providing a portable and neat solution that saves time and hassle. Each RunONE cable combines one channel of power with two, eight or 12 channels of 110 Ohm balanced audio for line level, mic level or digital AES audio signals and can be used with self-powered speakers or in DMX lighting control. Additional configurations of RunONE include two channels of Category 5e cable that can be used for data drops in remote power and audio applications. Snakes with optional data can also be used for digital audio transmission while sending power to Front of House (FOH) for remote locations. Shielding around the power channels eliminates power noise from interrupting the audio/data signal, ensuring high-quality performance.

RunONE cables come in both Professional and Touring versions.  The Touring Line of RunONE Cables is designed with larger-gauge (12 AWG) power conductors to provide a lower voltage drop for long-distance runs and an overall shield that reduces outside noise often encountered during those longer runs.

Terminated with industry-standard connectors, RunONE cables offer the option of Edison, IEC and Neutrik powerCON connectors for the power channel; 3-pin XLR, 5-pin XLR (for DMX lighting), TRS and Neutrik convertCON connectors for audio channels; and RJ45 and Neutrik etherCON connectors for optional data channels. RunONE cables are available in pre-defined and custom configurations.

“We’re always looking for ways to make things easier and save time for our customers, so we’re pleased to provide tools and cables that do just that,” said Joe Zajac, Sales and Applications Engineer for Gepco® Brand Products.
