Golf Channel Debuts ‘Playing Through’ Advertising Format for European Tour’s Final Series

Golf Channel introduced Playing Through, a new split-screen commercial break, which provides more continuous coverage of tournament action, while showcasing advertisers in a unique and compelling format.

GolfChannelPlaying Through began implementation during the European Tour’s Final Series starting with last week’s BMW Masters presented by SRE Group. Rather than go to a traditional commercial break, Golf Channel’s coverage went to a split screen with simultaneous live golf action and advertising. The commercial’s audio will be featured during the Playing Through breaks.

This new commercial break will be featured during the final two hours of Golf Channel’s tournament coverage, which will include eight Playing Through breaks and four traditional commercial breaks. In addition to the this week’s BMW Masters, Playing Through will be instituted at all four of the European Tour’s Final Series events including WGC-HSBC Champions, the Turkish Airlines Open presented by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.
