Q5X recently announced its support for reality TV series Cubicle to the Cage. Produced by Hemmings House Pictures, the series focuses on the journey of a few armchair athletes who pursue their dream of becoming MMA fighters for one exciting night. Q5X supported Cubicle to the Cage by providing the transmitter/receiver solution for miking the trainer and fighters.

The company also created, in cooperation with Reynald Trudell of Silent Sound (Toronto), a solution to a communication challenge faced by the producers of the movie Pacific Rim. The actors responsible for controlling the “Jaegers” (250-ft. robots) needed to communicate clearly while wearing helmets. Q5X was able to incorporate its remote-controlled audio technology into the actors’ helmets to provide the broadcast-quality sound required by the producers.

The QT-5000 wireless transmitter used in Pacific Rim was originally developed as a PlayerMic for the NBA to provide remote control of all functions of the transmitter during a game.
