beIN Sport Elevates Antonio Briceño to Deputy Managing Director

beIN SPORT has appointed Antonio Briceño as deputy managing director of beIN SPORT for North America. Briceño was instrumental for the U.S. launch of beIN SPORT, which launched Aug. 15, 2012, and now reaches more than 80 million pay-TV homes. In his new position, Briceño will oversee operations, production, marketing, sales and distribution efforts for beIN SPORT and beIN SPORT en Español, as well as for the authenticated-streaming service beIN SPORT PLAY. Briceño will report to the network’s managing director, Yousef Al-Obaidly.

Briceño, who has more than 20 years of experience in the television industry, has been part of beIN SPORT since its inception and was responsible for building its Miami-based team.

beIN SPORT’s exclusive coverage includes matches showcasing soccer stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga, Andrea Pirlo and Mario Balotelli in Serie A, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Radamel Falcao in Ligue 1. The network also features CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying matches, Copa America, the Copa del Rey, the U.K.’s Football League, Six Nations Rugby, tennis, boxing and other international sport competitions.
