Australian Postproduction Company Selects Dolby Atmos Technology

Dolby Laboratories announced that Australia’s largest independent postproduction company, Soundfirm, will be the first facility in Australia to be fully equipped to meet the postproduction needs for Dolby Atmos cinema sound. Soundfirm’s new facility in Melbourne has been designed from the ground up with the latest tools, technology, and equipment to support the needs of the content creation industry, as they aim to create immersive audio experiences for moviegoers with the help of Dolby Atmos technology. Dolby Atmos is the new audio platform that revolutionizes sound in entertainment.

“Soundfirm looks to deliver our clients the most state-of-the-art solutions, and Dolby Atmos is truly something revolutionary,” said Roger Savage, CEO, Soundfirm. “Dolby Atmos is a major paradigm shift from traditional channel-based formats like 5.1, 7.1, and 11.1, and it provides a more natural and realistic soundfield, moving sound around and above audiences, transporting them into the onscreen adventure.”

“Dolby Atmos sets a new standard for the cinema audio experience, which is only made possible through the support of a leading postproduction house such as Soundfirm,” said Mahesh Sundaram, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Dolby Laboratories. “We have seen an increased interest in Dolby Atmos in this region, and we are now able to support content creators with leading-edge tools that are deployed at Soundfirm.”
