Program Productions Attends to Crewing Needs for Sports Industry

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Program Productions as a mobile/integrator sponsor. Headquartered in Lombard, IL, the company provides labor management and production support for broadcast-television and live-event production, serving networks, professional sports teams, concert promoters, convention centers, and Fortune 1,000 corporations.

“We are excited about our sponsorship opportunity at the Sports Video Group,” says President/CEO Bob Carzoli. “We have been members of the organization since its inception but feel that, with the success and growth we have enjoyed over the past decade, it was important to become more closely associated with SVG and many of its important initiatives.”

Founded in 1987, Program Productions will be responsible for almost 4,000 event days in 2013. Such clients as Fox Sports, Mobile TV Group, AXS TV, the USGA, NBC Sports, NEP, Big Ten Network, and Turner Broadcasting have entrusted their broadcast-crewing needs to Program Productions for many years.

“We take our role in the industry very seriously,” says Carzoli. “We know we have an obligation to our customers, the 4,400 technicians we employ nationally, and the broadcast community at large. Sponsorship in conjunction with the Sports Video Group is clearly the best way for us to achieve these goals.”

In 2012, Program Productions launched ProCrewz, the first national, standardized data-management system designed specifically for managing the labor component of live events. ProCrewz gives its clients real-time access to staffing progress, job estimates, travel quotes, and invoices. It was built using a cloud-based infrastructure and uses SugarCRM as its database-management aggregator.

“ProCrewz was an enormous undertaking for us but one that we have seen pay solid dividends from the start. It has provided our customers with important job information in an on-demand environment,” Carzoli says. “We have proven that it increases productivity, reduces operating costs, [and] improves the flow of information over the computer, tablet, or cellphone. We are equally as excited about the upcoming modules that will further improve communication with our clients and field employees.”
