PlayOn! Sports Adds Andrew Saltzman as Chief Revenue Officer

PlayOn! Sports (PlayOn), the nation’s largest high school sports media company, announced today that sports marketing veteran Andrew Saltzman has joined the company as its first Chief Revenue Officer.

Saltzman will lead PlayOn’s efforts to engage partners and sponsors for both PlayOn Sports Properties and national opportunities for the NFHS Network, an all-digital network dedicated to streaming boys and girls high school sporting events, performing arts and other activities online.

Saltzman most notably created Sports Radio 790 The Zone in Atlanta, one of the leading sports talk outlets in the country. In 1997, Saltzman founded Big League Broadcasting as a client-centric marketing company featuring a sports talk radio station as the core asset to build reach for client brands. The result was 790 The Zone and its marquee client base included brands such as AT&T, Coca-Cola, Turner Broadcasting, Delta Airlines, Converse, Hooter’s, Aaron’s, Kia Motors and UPS.

As president of Big League Broadcasting, Saltzman also negotiated multi-year sports broadcast rights agreements with the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Tech football and men’s basketball, and the Chick-fil-A Bowl. In 2010, Saltzman orchestrated the sale of Big League Broadcasting to Lincoln Financial Media (LFM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lincoln Financial, where he then served as Vice President and General Manager for 790 The Zone.

Prior to joining PlayOn! Sports, Saltzman was most recently a consultant for NBC Sports Group where he strategized and assisted in the creation of a business plan for radio opportunities and the business expansion of the NBC Sports Radio Network.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Sports Council and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and the executive board for the 2013 NCAA men’s basketball Final Four.

Saltzman earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Georgetown University. He lives in Atlanta with his wife Amy and two sons, Max and Leo.
