Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ REVOLT Selects SMT for Social Media Presentation and Delivery

SMT, a provider of data integration, graphics presentation and video enhancement solutions to live sports and entertainment television, has partnered with REVOLT as the multi-genre, multi-platform music news channel leverages SMT’s social media system to create a real-time dialogue with its viewers.

SMTThe network, described by founder and Chairman Sean “Diddy” Combs as “the first channel created entirely from the ground up in this new era of social media,” employs SMT’s custom-configured GOTO Board, the interactive touchscreen display system that highlights the social media conversation between artists and fans using live tweets, Facebook posts, Instagram images and live poll data. SMT has also developed video playback functionality to allow REVOLT to analyze video premieres and concert footage.

“When REVOLT TV needed to find the best of the best in broadcast solutions for our social TV vision, SMT’s reputation immediately came to mind,” said Eugene Caldwell, REVOLT senior vice president of production. “We are pleased to be joined by SMT as we explore ways to exceed the expectations of our core audience – young people who have grown up using Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as a means for music discovery and sharing.”

REVOLT’s on-air talent can operate one of the four interactive touchscreens, highlighting the most compelling content and trending information related to music news and videos. This live data is powered by SMT’s signature Data Matrix Switchboard (DMX), which absorbs, collates and synchronizes multiple feeds into its social media publisher which allows REVOLT editors to easily streamline content searches for on-screen presentation.

The GOTO interface was designed by SMT subsidiary (n+1) designstudio, a creative services firm providing motion graphic design and conceptual branding solutions for the sports and entertainment industries.

“Our partnership with REVOLT has pushed the limits of next-generation social media innovations, bringing fans at home into the studio through the power of our real-time feed and presentation tools,” said Gerard J. Hall, SMT president and CEO. “In the coming months, our new social media presentation will elevate the fans’ interaction with this multi-platform music network, fusing the fans with the artists in a way never before experienced on live TV. We are excited to evolve with REVOLT.”
