Fast Company Names STATS as One of World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies

STATS LLC was honored by Fast Company in its annual list of the most innovative companies and businesses.  Among STATS’ recent innovations are its SportVU player tracking technology, ICE analytics platform and a suite of unique digital applications. Other honorees for 2014 include Google, Amazon, Airbnb and Nike.

STATSLogoThe Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s most significant, high-profile editorial effort of the year. The editorial team spends months gathering and sifting data, to identify those enterprises that exemplify the best in business from across the economy and around the world. The end result is a package that dares to be different, emphasizing not just revenue growth and profit margins but also progressive, sustainable business models and an ethos of creativity.

STATS’ SportVU player tracking technology brings fans next-generation statistics, including real-time player and ball positioning by extracting and processing X, Y and Z coordinates through sophisticated software and statistical algorithms. The result is a powerful lineup of unique performance data, highlighting speed profiles, accumulated distances, fatigue, fitness graphs and coverage maps for key insights and analysis points. STATS is the Official Player Tracking partner of the NBA. SportVU is also utilized by FIFA, UEFA and a host of flagship European soccer teams.

“This is a tremendous endorsement that captures the spirit of innovation that emanates throughout our company,” said STATS CEO Gary Walrath. “The coming months promise to be very exciting at STATS as we will be launching additional capabilities within our core competencies, including SportVU.”

“The culture of innovation across the globe is more robust than ever,” reports Fast Company editor Robert Safian, who identifies 12 lessons of innovation for 2014 within the issue. “To win in such a fast-changing environment requires a new kind of business agility.”

Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March 2014) is on newsstands beginning February 17 and available online at www.fastcompany.com/MIC as well as in app form via iTunes.
