FOX Sports, Daytona International Speedway Sign Deal for Daytona Supercross

FOX Sports and Daytona International Speedway have reached a five-year, multi-platform agreement to air the Daytona Supercross by Honda on FOX Sports 1, beginning with live coverage on March 8.
FoxLogoThe event is race No. 10 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship 17-race season and is contested on the famed tri-oval over a challenging rough and sandy course designed by supercross legend and FOX Sports 1 analyst Ricky Carmichael.

“With FOX Sports doing all of the supercross races live this season, locking up Daytona is great for the fans,” said Carmichael, who won at Daytona a record five times. “Ralph (Sheheen), Jeff (Emig) and Jenny (Taft) and I have a blast calling the races, and Daytona obviously has special meaning to me, both as a racer and a course designer.”

“FOX Sports is thrilled to get this deal done with our friends at Daytona International Speedway,” said Patrick Crakes, FOX Sports SVP Programming, Research, and Content Strategy.  “The agreement solidifies the FOX Sports family of networks as the long-term home of the complete supercross schedule and strengthens our position as the leader in motor sports programming.”

Run during iconic Daytona Beach Bike Week, a 10-day festival celebrating the two-wheel lifestyle, Daytona Supercross, broadcast on the FOX Sports family of networks since 2002, is poised to deliver one of the most competitive seasons in series history with four different winners in the year’s first seven events heading into this weekend’s race in Atlanta.

“The Daytona Supercross By Honda is the premier Supercross event in the country,” said Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III.  “We’re thrilled by FOX Sports’ commitment to serve as the broadcast home for the most challenging event on the Supercross schedule.”
