NCAA March Madness Live Sets All-Time Video Consumption Record

NCAA March Madness Live, managed by Turner Sports, has delivered record-setting video consumption for the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship with more than 51 million video streams over the first week of the tournament already surpassing the total of 49 million video streams for the entire event last year.mmlive-vertThe 51 million live video streams – across online and mobile platforms (tablets and smart phones) – are up 40% when compared tournament to date with 2013.

Additionally, NCAA March Madness Live has netted more than 10.5 million hours of live video consumed, an increase of 6% over last year and on pace to rank as an all-time record.

In partnership between the NCAA, Turner Sports and CBS Sports, NCAA March Madness Live is launched from www.ncaa.com/marchmadnesswww.bleacherreport.com and www.cbssports.com, and is available via the Amazon Appstore, Apple App Store, Google Play and Windows Store.  Additionally, fans can watch games via live streaming on TNT, TBS and truTV’s digital platforms, as well as participating TV provider websites.

  • Across all digital platforms, NCAA March Madness Live generated 51 million live video streams, up 40% compared with the first full week of the tournament in 2013.
  • Through the first week of the tournament, NCAA March Madness Live has registered more than 10.5 million hours of live video streaming, which represent a 6% increase from 2013.

Mobile Usage Growth

  • Mobile (tablets and smartphones) platforms experienced significant growth with live streams up 74% over the first week of the tournament in 2013.
  • Live streaming hours also delivered considerable growth, up 39% over the comparable span last year.
