GlobeCast Australia Launches OTT Streaming Service

GlobeCast Australia has launched GlobeStream, a comprehensive new ‘Over The Top’ (OTT) Internet streaming service. Complementing its existing portfolio of content delivery solutions, GlobeStream is supported by GlobeCast Australia’s state-of-the-art broadcast facilities. GlobeStream will be one of the most all-inclusive services in the market, allowing customers the benefit of a consolidated OTT service alongside the company’s Direct to Home, Fiber Distribution, and Satellite News Gathering services.

Giving customers the flexibility they require to meet clients’ evolving content delivery requirements, GlobeStream offers full-time channels and ad-hoc services, as well as the option to ‘Live Stream’ or deliver ‘Video-on-Demand’. The service is also time and cost efficient, enabling customers to encode content at the source, to any modern file format.

“Globestream is an exciting new chapter for Globecast Australia,” says Simon Farnsworth, CEO of GlobeCast Australia. “For many years leading media organizations have trusted Globecast Australia to deliver their content via satellite and fiber.  We see IP delivery as a natural evolution to our existing services and I am delighted to continue to offer our clients cutting edge technology and an even greater variety of content delivery solutions.”

With GlobeCast Australia providing broadcast quality services for web, GlobeStream offers 24/7 Master Control Room monitoring and support, and the added benefit of the company’s worldwide media and satellite network, as well as access to Akamai’s global Content Delivery Network at highly competitive rates.

“While we continue to innovate, Globecast Australia maintains its commitment to service quality,” says Paul Suters, Director of Engineering & Operations of GlobeCast Australia. “Our new Globestream service leverages many of our existing areas of expertise, providing our clients with the confidence in delivery they have come to expect from Globecast Australia.”
