SVG College Sports Summit: Venue Technology Workshop Track To Tackle Control Rooms, Connectivity

Whether your school is in the midst of a new build or merely considering a renovation, the number of technology decisions that lay ahead can be daunting.  At the College Sports Summit, a second-day Workshop Track will feature two panels of experts who will address your questions and concerns, as well as a case study on the University of Washington’s recent renovation of Husky Stadium.

Venue Technology: Gearing Up For Game Day is designed for the college sports professional in the midst of technology planning for a new control room or production facility. Experts will discuss how to best evaluate technology options, what kind of equipment to consider, and how the decisions made will impact current and future production needs.

1:15 p.m.   Case Study: University of Washington’s Husky Stadium
Prior to the 2013 college football season, University of Washington unveiled its $280 million renovation of Husky Stadium.  The revamped venue features nine video boards, visible from different vantage points throughout the venue; a lower field and seats moved closer to the field; a two-story football operations center; and much more.  Van Wagner’s Bob Jordan, an integral part of the renovation process, will present a case study on the project.

Enhancing the fan experience is essential to filling seats and upgrading in-venue connectivity is on every venue’s to-do list, but building an infrastructure to serve thousands of fans is easier said than done.
