SVG Welcomes Corporate Sponsors Nila, VITEC, Zayo Group

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Nila, VITEC, and Zayo Group as corporate sponsors.

Nila manufactures environmentally sustainable, high-brightness LED fixtures durable enough to meet the needs of the harshest production situations. VITEC is a worldwide provider of innovative digital video products that support end-to-end media solutions. Zayo Group is a global provider of bandwidth infrastructure services, including dark fiber, wavelengths, SONET, Ethernet, IP services, and carrier-neutral colocation and interconnection.

Nila fixtures are versatile and user-friendly, producing tremendous light output, good color-rendering, and cradle-to-cradle sustainability. The company’s products are RoHS-compliant (no toxic heavy metals), exceed Energy Star standards, and can be returned for repurposing and/or recycling when clients are finished with them.

Earlier this year, Nila replaced the existing tungsten and metal halide lights at the Reno (NV) Event Center for the 2014 NBA D-League Showcase. The upgrade was essential, not only allowing fans to see the court better but enabling CBS Sports to broadcast the event in HD.

VITEC has been advancing the field of MPEG technology ever since it introduced the world’s first MPEG-1 encoder for micro computers in 1992. Its solutions address the various needs of broadcast, corporate, industrial, medical, education, government, military, and telco customers. The company’s professional-grade video technologies have changed the landscape of video processing and delivery around the world and drive many of the major video services in key vertical markets.

At NAB 2014, VITEC announced a partnership with Sony and offered a live demonstration of its new end-to-end 4K IPTV solution for real-time, multicast distribution of Ultra HD video at the Sony booth. VITEC’s MGES-6000 Blade encoder ingests 4K content from professional 4K cameras via four HD-SDI ports and encodes and streams it over IP. Its turnkey 4K solution also includes a 4K desktop player with SDK that can be integrated into third-party applications for viewing 4K content on desktops, laptops, and embedded-media platforms.

Headquartered in Boulder, CO, Zayo Group offers a network footprint extending over 75,950 route miles, with connectivity on dense metro and intercity fiber assets. The company, founded in 2007, also has a European headquarters in London.

Zayo Net recently renewed its contract with ESPN as the provider of the network’s core fiber-optic backbone. With 24/7 production facilities located across the country and around the world, ESPN relies on that backbone to share content quickly and efficiently.  Zayo Group supports ESPN Net’s domestic footprint — including fiber routes between New York and Bristol, CT, throughout the country, and around Los Angeles — through its fiber network and 24/7 operations.
