Applications key to successful timeshift services also will be featured, including just-in-time packaging (JIT-P) and Apple HLS passthrough.

Additionally, Elemental together with Globosat and Broadcom, will provide insights into 4K HEVC, multiscreen content delivery and video over IP as well as recent use cases associated with some of the world’s biggest live sports events in a keynote presentation scheduled from 12h00 to 12h40 on Tuesday 5 August in Auditorium 4, STA Room 1, off of isle 2. Featured speakers include Sergio da Silva, regional manager Latin America for Elemental; Alan Murakami, specialist in analysis and technical development at Globosat , for Globosat; and Andy Melder, director of operator marketing, for Broadcom.

“We are excited to bring the same 4K HEVC capabilities that we provided for the world’s leading live sports events this year to Latin American broadcast and pay TV leaders at ABTA this year,” said Keith Wymbs, chief marketing officer for Elemental. “We also look forward to sharing a new, intelligent approach to video delivery for emerging value-add timeshift TV services.”
