Speakers Announced for SVG’s Sports Venue Technology Summit in Seattle

Join us on Wednesday, October 15, for an in-depth look at University of Washington’s massive $280 million renovation of its athletic facilities, followed by informative panel discussions on the latest in control room gear, the mobile fan experience, and the role of 4K in sports venues.

The day begins with a presentation by Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment’s Robert Jordan, who spearheaded the Husky Stadium renovation, and Chip Lydum, UW’s Associate AD Operations & Capital Projects.

Following a behind-the-scenes tour of Husky Stadium — one of college sports’ most technologically advanced venues — the local teams discuss their game-day workflows and how they strive to put on the best show possible. Speakers include Derek Boyd, Canucks Sports & Entertainment, Director, Technology; Mike Janes, Portland Trailblazers, Vice President of Engineering & Technology; Ben Mertens, Seattle Mariners, Director of Mariners Productions; and Chip Suttles, Seattle Seahawks, Vice President/Technology.

Next, Ed Olsen, Cisco Sports and Entertainment, Customer Solutions Manager/ Content & ROI Strategist; Kenton Olson, Director of Digital Media & Emerging Media, Seattle Seahawks; and Dan Plumlee, Indianapolis Colts, Director of Interactive Media will weigh in on the role of mobile video in the on-demand fan experience.

A panel focused on the latest on in control room technology includes top systems integrators Alpha Video, BeckTV, Diversified Systems, and The Systems Group.
