MaxPreps, Hudl Team Up on Video, Statistics for High School Athletics

MaxPreps and Hudl, a supplier of online video coaching tools, announced a multi-year agreement that will highlight athletes around the country with extensive video coverage and streamline the process of gathering data for high schools.

Beginning with the current fall sports season, MaxPreps.com will feature Hudl highlight reels on its team and athlete pages, offering fans access to a rich library of video highlights for more than 15,000 high school football teams and hundreds of thousands of individual athletes. MaxPreps will also use highlights from Hudl in its studio programming, which often features the top college recruits, amazing plays, and the biggest games in the nation.

The agreement will consolidate the in-game and post-game processes for recording and integrating statistics, allowing coaches to enter data into Hudl’s pioneering Tag A Game app, where it will automatically sync to both Hudl and MaxPreps.

“We are excited to work with MaxPreps in a way that will benefit coaches and athletes,” said Hudl CEO David Graff. “Hudl is where coaches live throughout the season. They need access to video, coaching tools, and statistical data all in one place. By pulling everything into Hudl, coaches can better prepare their athletes for competition and still get that information delivered to MaxPreps. Our team at Hudl spent a lot of time studying coaches’ workflows for stats, and developed new tools to help them utilize Hudl at a higher level, all while automatically syncing with MaxPreps.”

“MaxPreps and Hudl both place the high school coach at the center of our businesses, and our new agreement will be revolutionary for high school sports,” said MaxPreps Founder and President Andy Beal. “In addition to saving  coaches time, the partnership will provide high school sports fans, players, and parents with even more in-depth content about their teams, create exciting advertising opportunities, and take the MaxPreps experience to a whole new level.”

The integration of stats and video will start with high school football and expand over time into other sports.
