Anaheim Ducks Ink Long-Term Rights Extension with Fox Sports

The Anaheim Ducks signed a long-term contract extension on Monday with FOX Sports Regional Networks, which has televised Ducks games since the franchises’ inaugural 1993-94 season. Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, the Los Angeles Times reports it is a 10-year deal worth about $13 million a year in the early years of the agreement.

All 82 regular season games will be televised locally this year for the fourth consecutive season. A club-record 75 games will be carried live on Fox networks, including 71 on Prime Ticket/Fox Sports West and four on KCOP-13.

“We are very pleased to extend our longstanding relationship with the Anaheim Ducks organization,” says FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket SVP and GM Steve Simpson. “Coming off of a record-breaking season in 2013-14, it’s an exciting time for Ducks hockey on Prime Ticket, and we are proud to deliver even more coverage to Southern California sports fans for years to come.”

Ducks games on Prime Ticket have been carried live in HD since the 2009-10 season. In addition, Prime Ticket’s production team will also continue to provide comprehensive coverage surrounding the team with “Ducks Live” pre- and post-game shows following all home and road telecasts. Additionally, Prime Ticket will produce the following original Ducks programming during the 2014-15 season: “Ducks Weekly,” airing every Friday throughout the regular season, “Before the Bigs: Ryan Getzlaf” and “In My Own Words: Bruce Boudreau.”

Play-by-play announcer John Ahlers and analyst Brian Hayward recently entered their 13th season together calling Ducks games. Mark Rogondino again serves as studio host, sitting alongside former Ducks goaltender, Guy Hebert, and Hayward to offer viewers further analysis.

“This is a great day for the Ducks organization and our fans,” says Ducks CEO Michael Schulman. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Prime Ticket and bring Ducks hockey into Southern California homes for the foreseeable future.”

Fox Sports has now has secured long-term TV deals to carry the Kings, Angels, and Ducks over the past three years.
